Investing in yourself can be difficult. Life gets busy and other things take priority and then all of a sudden you’ve accidentally made yourself the lowest priority on your list. It’s a vicious cycle and personally one I’m learning to break. Choosing to invest in yourself, choosing to make you are priority can have a huge impact on you how you feel about yourself. 

As I’m approaching my 5th year of shooting Boudoir Photography, I’ve photographed hundreds of women. I’ve listened, held space and received so much feedback about how doing a boudoir shoot has changed their perspective of themselves. Whether they are just leaving their session or have received their final gallery, they have been left feeling empowered, worthy and full of a deeper love and appreciation for themselves. They have taken time to make themselves a priority. They have invested in themselves. 

Whenever I first tell people I am a Boudoir Photographer, there is always an assumption that most women are booking a session to gift their photos to their partners. Don’t get me wrong, many women do, but even if it is the case, they are still booking to themselves (whether they realise it or not). Every session I do, it's because the person I am capturing is ready to celebrate themselves. To choose themselves. To invest in themselves. 

When I first started Leaf & Lace, I knew straight away it was something special. It felt different. It felt important. What I didn’t realise was how powerful it would feel to use my photography to literally change people’s lives. Leaf & Lace has grown into something phenomenally magical. Through my lens, I am able to capture the moment someone promises to unconditionally love themselves and hold on to that moment for the rest of their life.
