This interview is with Michelle O'Brien.
What inspired you to do a Boudoir Shoot?
I have wanted to do a shoot with Shelby since she started Leaf and Lace , I have been such a huge fan from the start!! My inspiration to finally book my shoot was finally escaping a DV marriage.
Describe your shoot experience. How did you feel before/during/after your session?
I was really excited leading up to the shoot, and then got super nervous. My biggest concern was my anxiety stopping me from doing the session but that didn't happen!! Shelby made me feel sooo comfortable and made me feel beautiful (which I have never felt about myself ever) . She's so amazing, seriously made me feel like a freaking supermodel. I was also lucky to have my gorgeous daughter with me, so had the best two hype girls ever!! Afterwards, I felt so confident, I felt proud of myself and so glad that I did this.
Has your session impacted your Body Love Journey? If so, how?
This year, my journey has been full of so many fun times! Music festivals, concerts, nights out with my girls, playing soccer, lots of walking, and weekends away with family. My favourite of course my weekend away to do this shoot!
I think my session has inspired me to keep going, to keep working on myself and learn to love myself a bit more.
What is your number one Body Love tip?
Be proud of your beautiful body, she's perfect just the way she is!!
Write a Love Letter to your body.
Dear Body,
I know for a long time I didn't love you. You didn't look the way I thought you should, and we were in so much pain, both physically and mentally. But look at us now. I know we are still a work in process, and we still have pain, but I love you so much now. You are kind, loving, but still powerful. We got this xoxo
