Tell me about your Body Love Journey so far.
A busy working mother of two beautiful children with a lack of body confidence. This was me...
I've been working on my body love since meeting Shelby. She created a safe space to normalise every shape, bump and difference in every woman. Doing my first shoot with Shelby I was desperately wanting to feel sexy within. I booked a couple shoot so I didn't have to go alone. You can see since then my confidence has grown with each shoot I've had with Shelby since.
What inspired you to do a Boudoir Shoot?
I've known Shelby for quite some time and had been following her page for ages. I was in awe of all the beauty and thought since I was turning 30 that it was a good excuse to embrace myself with a birthday present to me.
Describe your shoot experience. How did you feel before/during/after your session?
Before the shoot I was so nervous. I felt a little embarrassed to frolic around in my lingerie at the creek. But Shelby is so easy to talk to, she breaks down the barriers and made me feel so comfortable in my own skin. She's the ultimate hype girl! Since then my shoots have been just fun between friends.
Did you have any concerns or fears prior to the session? How did those play out?
I had concerns that my stomach (my biggest insecurity) would ruin all my images. After I received my images I actually chose a front on view of my belly and it didn't bother me like I thought it would
What advice would you give to anyone thinking about booking a session of their own?
Do it! Own it! Let your inner love shine! Don't wait for the perfect time or body. You already are perfect and the time is now!!!
Has your session impacted your Body Love Journey? If so, how?
Yes!! Immensely! My last shoot I felt so beautiful and I look at the images and think what an absolute bad ass in that water!
What is your top Body Love tip?
Be in all the photos. Your body will change many times in life. Have no regrets because one day you'll look back and be thankful you captured yourself in that exact moment
Write a Love Letter to your body.
Dear body, thank you for creating a space where I have grown children, been on adventures and am able to tell stories through the scars and tattoos I've accumulated along the way.
